Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3: Which is Better?

When the seventh generation of console video gaming dawned, all attention are between Microsoft and Sony or specifically between Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Microsoft and Sony have decided to pit their consoles spec against spec since Nintendo’s Wii preferred a more laidback (and off-the-hook) approach for their marketing strategy.

At the moment, all consoles seems to look very promising. So, on which one would you bet your dollar with?

Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3, compared.

Microsoft got a good head-start when it released the Xbox 360, and at this time Microsoft was already enjoying considerable success with the predecessor Xbox. That is largely due to the release of a killer game Halo: Combat Evolved.

Xbox 360 despite its being old in the market, has its strength to the credits of personal computers and Directx technology. Who can beat it? It has ATI and IBM as its parts. ATI after all is only the developer of the well known Radeon series and it is NVIDIA’s primary rival of GeForce. Also, Xbox’s Triple Core CPU unit is made by IBM. Xbox 360 is still so popular that its games like Gears of War sold over two million copies, 6 weeks after its launch in the market.

During Playstation 3’s launched in the market, one can find only minimal differences between the specs of Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3 technology-wise. Both processors are excellent, although Playstation 3 has more better one. Both have good graphics. When its comes to memory, there is no problem whatsoever with both Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3. Their accessories are both significant in improving the playing experience.

However, the Blu-ray technology of Playstation 3 is a very strong contender against XbOx 360’s old DVD format. The format wars are heating up, but of course technology-wise, it would be better to opt to Playstation 3. Blue-ray (and it’s competitor HD DVD)is the latest media storage hype. It has the capacity ten times surpassing that of the regular DVD’s. Because of this, it permits more storage space from top shelf games and thus, offers more options for gamers. More so,it is a lot cheaper compared to a regular BD player that costs twice the price of Playstation 3. Well..it wouldn’t left the Xbox 360 in the back for long because Xbox 360 also plans to add a Blue-ray media.

But all has yet to be seen. The Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3 war is still to be experienced, with battlegrounds such as the PlayStation Network against Xbox Live to wage wars over. So that leaves you thinking: Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3, which would you prefer?
